Abstract

The paper is mostly focused on the issue of dissemination of the culture of Rizhao handicrafts in English language converged media, which has to do with the internationalization of the handicrafts culture of Rizhao and the communication difficulties that it encounters in its digital cultural tourism plan. The study is based on a case study analysis of the four aspects of the communication practices and strategies, namely content, platform, audience and feedback. It was found out that the English-Language converged media dissemination process is characterized by lack of localization of the language and the partial translation of the symbols of the culture used as well as the inability to communicate effectively, the dissemination process is still at the stage of translation and not recreation of culture. This should be addressed by the need to contextualize the content better in terms of culture and design visuals, and optimize the algorithms in the platforms, and tag them accordingly to enhance communication effectiveness.
