Critical Issues in Interculturality for Young Language Learners

This study critically addresses key issues related to interculturality among young language learners, focusing on an international primary school in Shenzhen, China. Interculturality is framed from a non-essentialist perspective, emphasizing the dynamic and reciprocal negotiation of meaning between individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. The research explores how intercultural understanding can be cultivated through interactive pedagogical strategies such as storytelling and storycrafting, which facilitate both language learning and cultural exchange. The study highlights the unique characteristics of young learners, noting that their innate curiosity and active engagement make them well-suited to these approaches. Additionally, it examines the practical challenges of integrating intercultural encounters into language education, including the need for specialized teacher training and the complexity of managing diverse linguistic backgrounds. The study concludes that fostering interculturality in young learners requires a shift from traditional cultural instruction to engaging students in authentic, interactive experiences. These approaches not only enhance language acquisition but also promote deeper intercultural understanding and prepare students for global citizenship.

Research on the Development Dilemma and Path of the Commercial Operation Mode of High-Level Sports Events in China under the Background of New Quality Productivity

This paper deeply discusses the development dilemma and the potential breakthrough path encountered by the commercial operation mode of high-level sports events in China under the background of the emerging concept of new quality productivity. Through detailed analysis of the core essence of new productivity and its diversified application in the sports industry, such as information technology in live broadcast and data analysis, biotechnology in the scientific application of athletes training and recovery, and new material technology in sports equipment innovation, this paper comprehensively examines the present situation of high level sports commercial operation in China. On this basis, the paper further analyzes the current challenges in policy environment, management experience, product development and profit distribution, and at the same time also reveals the new opportunities brought by new quality productivity for the commercialization of sports events. Finally, in view of the above difficulties, this paper puts forward a series of forward-looking and operable optimization paths, aiming to promote the commercial operation mode of high-level sports events in China to a more mature and efficient direction.

The Analysis of the Structural and Functional Characteristics of Four-Word Clusters in Experts and Students’ Academic Writing in Linguistics

This study examines the structural and functional characteristics of four-word clusters in the academic writing of expert and student writers within the field of linguistics. Using a self-compiled corpus and AntConc software, the researcher extracted and analyzed four-word clusters, identifying distinct usage patterns between the two groups. Expert writers showed a strong preference for noun phrase clusters and research-oriented bundles, indicating advanced linguistic competence and a focus on detailed research descriptions. In contrast, student writers demonstrated a more balanced structural distribution and a higher use of text-oriented and participant-oriented bundles, suggesting emerging academic writing proficiency. These findings highlight the need for targeted academic writing instruction, emphasizing noun phrase clusters and research-oriented bundles to guide students towards a more sophisticated writing style. This research provides insights into the teaching of academic English, supporting students’ development of more expert-like linguistic practices.
